Mitzi
Mitzi (aka "Moo Moo Dog") was our family dog growing up. She was so patient with us! I would dress her up in my doll clothes and parade her around the neighborhood. She was the epitome of the family dog.

Ginger was my first "show" dog. Ok, so she wasn't a Westminster candidate, but she did very well in Obedience. For 17 wonderful years she was my faithful friend. She consoled me through my adolescence, encouraged me through college, and comforted me as I moved out and took a crack at adulthood. Ginger knew every trick I could think up. She taught me so very much. I'm forever in her debt.

Heidel You Be Good Or Elsa
Writing this one is hard. What do you say about a relationship so special? I'm not sure I can even put it to words. I just plain loved this dog. I mean LOVED this dog. Elsa was a rescue and we sure had our work cut out for us. It was a long long road from the dog-aggressive matted mess I brought home to the noble grand dame I helped over the Bridge 9 years later. She had a great sense of self. Extremely confident and sure of herself. I admired her a lot.

Von Hornberger's Country Boy, CDXBoyzee (aka Bud) was my first show German Shepherd. He was a handsome guy and very affectionate, but hated to show. Seriously detested the ring. So I retired him and he lived a long happy life with my ex-husband, who Bud always loved more than anything in life anyway. Go figure.

Kebre's Whatta GemOh, my sweet Gemma Girl. This was another one of my special relationships. She would have walked through fire just because I asked her to. Gem didn't have a friendly temperament... that's just the truth of it. She LOVED me, but really only tolerated others and some folks she didn't tolerate at all. Still, she was my shining star, retiring after taking her Maturity class out of 26 bitches at the 1996 Great Lakes Futurity. One of the proudest moments of my life.

Kebre's All Fired Up
Kirby was an amazing dog. The German Shepherd Dog Club of America describes the ideal GSD with "the look of eagles" and man, did Kirby have it! He was stunning to look at and a total ham! He could make you laugh just by looking at you with that quirky smile he had. I unfortunately lost Kirby early to a pancreatic disease before he matured enough to reach his full potential. He did take 2nd in his Futurity Class at the same show his half-sister Gem took first in hers. I was a proud mama that day!
Rogan
When the last of my GSD's had gone on to the Rainbow Bridge, I adopted Rogan from GSD Rescue. He was older at the time, but a fierce protector and an absolutely beautiful dog so I decided maybe he and I could offer each other something. He lived out his golden years as the King of our home. He passed peacefully in his sleep on his fluffy bed in his favorite spot on our porch. What a way to go.
