Horses are one of God's most majestic creatures and none more so than the Arabian. I got my first Arab, Shiraz, by accident. I bought him sight unseen as a "beginner safe quarter horse cross"... the first of oh so many mistakes. When I got his papers I realized I had not just an Arabian, but a Ferzon grandson! I roll my eyes at myself now, but at the time I just knew he had stolen my heart. PLEASE don't do that. Educate yourself. But for us, it worked out and he taught me so very much. I'm forever indebted to our King Shiraz. I miss him every day.
My mare WSR Khaznit Bataay, "Sughar"came to us in 2006. She is out of a *Bataan son and a Shirik grandaughter. Sughar had a lot of training in her youth, but had been primarily a broodmare before I bought her. She's now retired from the baby game and adjusting to life as my trail partner. I've never known a more willing horse. That poor mare and I have hauled all over creation and she never complains. I think she likes having a job to do.
Crazy J Wind Star "Stahr" is our most recent addition. She's largely foundation-bred out of a *Bask grandson and Al-Marah Evening Star (line bred on *Count Dorsaz). Stahr is a princess. She's all attitude and her charisma is infectious. I bought her directly from her breeder. She's never known negative training and been exposed to the Parelli method and natural horsemanship from day one. What a special girl she is and I look forward to our future together. At the moment, she's thoroughly ground trained and is starting work under saddle.
