Where Border Collies and Arabian horses are celebrated!
The UN-BorderCollies
Maggie - Cane Corso Italiano
Maggie was my mother's loyal companion.   Mom would take Mags everywhere with her.  When I'd call Mom,  you could count on speaking to Maggie or having the conversation temporarily interrupted because Maggie "needs a belly rub / cookie".  When Mom passed away in April 2006, Maggie had as hard a time as the rest of us.  She was depressed and didn't eat for several days.  After the funeral, Maggie and I went for a long walk.  I really feel like we were mourning together.  I needed Maggie to help me through the grieving process, and I like to think she needed me too.

Our bond is very special.  She's constantly with me, even as I write this she's squeezed her 110lb body under the computer table and is resting her head on my foot!  Jason and the kids will tell you the #1 house rule is:  "What Maggie wants, Maggie gets"... something Maggie and I deny totally as we cuddle in OUR bed (it's King-size now so Jason doesn't have to sleep on the couch) and watch Animal Planet... it's her favorite channel.  Spoiled?  Yes, I am.

Edwin - Basset / Lab Mix
Our resident sweet boy.  Edwin is a WATER dog!  He'll do almost anything to get to water, including scale our cross-fence to get to the horses' pond!  For a short guy, he's quite athletic. Since our boat does not at all resemble a sheep, the Border Collies are unimpressed... but Edwin?  Downright gitty when we get out the doggie life vest.  Dogs Ahoy!

Bono - Basset Hound
Bono is a "foster failure".  We began fostering Bono for Basset Rescue.  He was an aggression case and had already been through two foster homes.  Add to that he was a senior hound, adopting him out became an unlikely option.  Long story short, he stayed and we love him a lot.  His favorite past-times include being a Border Collie speed bump and lounging by the camp fire with Jason.  I have my suspicions they occasionally share a beer, but neither will admit it.
